MPS Technologies (part of the ICC Macmillan family) attend Online Information Exhibition to launch BookStore beta sites and ScholarlyStats Integration

London, UK, November 2, 2006--MPS Technologies will be attending this year's Online Information Exhibition (London Olympia, 28th-30th November) to present beta sites for their first BookStore clients, as well as to launch ScholarlyStats Integration, the integration of their library usage collection service with other vendor systems.

MPS’s ambitious plan to develop a digital book platform is now a reality. At Online, MPS will be demonstrating live beta sites in English and German for four publishers and the Borsenverein, the publishers' and booksellers' association for Germany.

"The real advantage of BookStore for publishers is that it allows them to make content available for search and purchase online, while retaining control of all copyright, metadata, licensing, payments and customer data,"says Jayne Marks, CEO of MPS Technologies.

Also to be launched by MPS at Online is ScholarlyStats Integration. ScholarlyStats collects and consolidates library usage data and this extension of the service will see these usage statistics automatically transferred into other library systems to be integrated with other data. Early integration partners include Thomson Scientific with their new Journal Use Reports service and Innovative Interfaces for their Electronic Resources Management (ERM) system.

"We are excited to be working with such established library vendors as Innovative and Thomson to support libraries with their collection development decisions," says Martha Sedgwick, ScholarlyStats Product Manager. "Using the SUSHI protocol, we can now automatically transfer usage data for the 450 databases and 70,000 journals from 13,500 publishers that we cover. This integration means that our library users will be able to review usage information of this content alongside other vendor data, including impact factor and pricing information, enabling easier evaluation of the resources they subscribe to."
